A delegation from Lund University, led by Professor Viktor Öwall, Dean of Faculty of Engineering (LTH), visited Beihang on April 19.
On behalf of Beihang, Professor HUANG Haijun, Vice President, signed the Agreement on Educational Collaboration with Professor Öwall during the high-level meeting. Senior staff members from International Division, School of Electronic and Information Engineering and the International School attended the meeting.
According to the agreement, Lund University will send up to 20 undergraduates to Beihang for one semester each year. They will form classes with Beihang students and have courses on Electronic and Information Engineering, Chinese, and Chinese culture, which will be given by professors from Beihang and Lund. Beihang will send students to Lund as well.
After the meeting, the delegation visited School of Electronic and Information Engineering and the International School, having discussions on cooperation details.
Lund University is one of northern Europe's oldest, largest and most prestigious universities, consistently ranking among the world's top 100 universities. According to QS 2016, Lund University is ranked 73th in the world. It has 42,000 students and 7,400 employees.
The Faculty of Engineering (LTH) was originally established as an independent institute in 1961, but was incorporated in Lund University as a faculty in 1969. Now it is one of the most important schools in Lund and a world-class engineering institute.
