41 students engaging in exchange studies at Beihang during the 2018 spring term participated in a two-day cultural tour to Shanxi Province. The tour, organized by the International Division of Beihang University, aims to enrich the extracurricular activities of international exchange students and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.
On May 26, the group visited the Hanging Temple, an architectural wonder as well as the only existing temple with the combination of three Chinese traditional religions: Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.
After a night’s sleep in Datong Ancient City with a taste of local cuisine, the group visited Yungang Grottoes to appreciate the masterpiece of Chinese Buddhist cave art from 1500 years ago.
Each semester, the International Division organizes a number of cultural tours to help international students explore Beijing and other parts of China. This is the second cultural tour for spring 2018 semester.
