On November 11, the Kogakuin Confucius Institute, co-established by Beihang University and Kogakuin University, hosted a major event in Tokyo to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Mr. Hu Zhiping, Minister-Counselor of the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, Prof. Huang Haijun, Vice President of Beihang University and Prof. Mitsunobu Sato, President of Kogakuin University attended the event.
Prof. Mitsunobu Sato reviewed 10 years of achievements of the Confucius Institute and said,” Owing to the science and technology traditions of Beihang and Kogakuin, the Kogakuin Confucius Institute is unique among others in promoting cultural exchange and research cooperation between China and Japan.”

Prof. Huang Haijun expressed his gratitude for the efforts of institute directors during the past ten years. He acknowledged the achievements of the Confucius Institute and noted that the two institutions would continue to work together and innovate new ways to develop the Confucius Institute.

The Confucius Institute at Kogakuin University, founded in 2008, is the only Confucius Institute abroad established by Beihang University. Under the governance of Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), the institute offers a wide variety of Chinese courses and cultural activities to build extensive cooperation between the two universities and stronger ties between China and Japan.
