On September 13, Beihang joined a league of 60 top Chinese and Russian universities to form a new Sino-Russian Comprehensive University Alliance in an inauguration ceremony held in Shenzhen attended by Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets.

Forty Chinese universities, including Peking University and Tsinghua University, and 20 Russian universities, including Lomonosov Moscow State University, joined the alliance. The alliance is committed to promoting exchanges in innovative approaches to education, scientific research, cultural and social activities between the two countries.
