On July 11, President Xu Huibin, on behalf of Beihang University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University). The memorandum promotes greater collaboration between the two universities in teaching and research in fields such as information technology and mechanics.
ITMO University, founded in 1900, is one of Russia’s National Research Universities located in St. Petersburg. It is one of the 15 Russian universities selected to participate in the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100. The university currently comprises 11,000 students and 1,300 faculty and staff. Research priorities of ITMO University include IT, photonics, robotics, and life sciences.
