On November 14, the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) 10th Anniversary High-Level Forum on the theme, “Community of Shared Future through Space Cooperation”, was held in Beijing. Beihang President Prof. Xu Huibin and Vice President Prof. Huang Haijun attended the forum.
Prof. Xu Huibin and Dr. Li Xinjun, Secretary-General of APSCO, signed the renewed cooperation agreement between Beihang and APSCO, in the presence of Mr. Miao Wei, Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, and representatives from other APSCO member states.
During the High-Level Forum, Prof. Huang Haijun delivered a speech entitled “Beihang Global Campus and International Space Education”, introducing the international strategy, degree and non-degree programs on space education and the Small Satellite programs at Beihang University.
APSCO is an inter-governmental organization dedicated to promote and strengthen the development of collaborative space programs among its Member States by establishing the basis for cooperation in peaceful applications of space science and technology. The APSCO Education and Training Center, located at Beihang, was founded on July 26, 2013. So far, it has trained 60 doctoral students, 260 master students and over 1,500 short-term professionals for APSCO members and other developing countries.
