On March 20 and 21, a two-day workshop focused on advanced production and manufacturing in the digital era was held at Beihang to encourage research collaboration and celebrate 30 years of partnership between Beihang and Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers (ENSAM). Professor Ivan Lordanoff, Vice-president of ENSAM, Mr. Julien Bonnet, Economic Counsellor of French Embassy and other professors and officials from ENSAM as well as the French Embassy attended the workshop.
On the morning of March 20, Professor Huang Haijun, Vice President Academic and International of Beihang University, warmly greeted the delegation. He reviewed the fruitful cooperation between two institutions during the past 30 years, and introduced latest achievements of Beihang in education, research and international development. Professor Iordanoff also presented the current status of teaching and research at ENSAM and expressed his sincere hope to strengthen the partnership between Beihang and ENSAM. Both sides exchanged views and agreed on promoting research collaboration, student and staff mobility and joint education of engineering students.
From the afternoon of March 20 to March 21, Beihang and ENSAM jointly held the Workshop of Advanced Production and Manufacturing in the Digital Era. Experts from both sides presented 12 talks and held discussions in fields such as discrete element model of complex behaviors of mechanical dynamic system, molding processing technology of materials, application of augmented reality in product assembly.
Founded in 1780, Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers is a world-renowned general engineering school and one of the founding members of ParisTech. The university is reputable for its three-year engineering education programs and excellence in automobile manufacturing, mechanics and dynamics. Beihang and ENSAM has carried out extensive collaboration in joint education programs which have been attended by over 30 double-degree master students and 47 exchange students.
