On July 15, Beihang celebrated the 2019 Sino-German Science and Culture Day, co-hosted by Beihang University and Technische Universität Clausthal (TU Clausthal). The event included the Sino-German Academic Forum and a concert. Dr. CAO Shumin, Chair of Beihang University Council and Professor Xu Huibin, President of Beihang University attended the events.

The Sino-German Academic Forum was hosted by Professor Deng Yuan of the School of Materials Science and Engineering. Prof. Gunther Brenner, Vice President of TU Clausthal, delivered a keynote speech on TU Clausthal’s education models. Afterwards, Professor Hou Zhengmeng, Head of China Competence Center, Institute of Petroleum Engineering and Professor Fan Ying from the School of Economics and Management shared their views on energy transition in Germany and China.  

On the night of July 15, a concert themed “Night of Friendship” was held at Beihang Concert Hall. The performances by eight German musicians, German Chinese musicians and the Beihang Student Art Troupe was a feast of the senses for the audience. The celebration culminated in a combined performance by musicians from both sides of the classic song Auld Lang Syne.
